Pentaho Liferay® Integration

The Pentaho Liferay integration enables a Pentaho portlet(s) to be deployed in Liferay portal running under the same Tomcat application server. These portlets are part of the Liferay list of portlets that can be added to any portal page.

From the Liferay Welcome drop down list, click Add Contents to add the Pentaho portlet to the Liferay portal.

Once the portlet is added to the page, you can design your page. The examples below are from the Liferay demo:

All the PEntaho portlets are editable. Once in the edit section you can provide a default value for all the variables for a specific portlet. Below are examples of the SolutionBrowser
and ActionResponse portlets. You can provide a default path to your solution folder.  In the action response portlet you can select the action sequence you want to run by selecting from the browser dialog box.

Pentaho has implemented a Pentaho-specific portlet intercommunication where two portlets can share data or one portlet can share data with several other portlets. One of example is the solution browser and the action response portlet working together. Users can select a specific action sequence from the solution browser. The action sequence is executed and result is displayed in the action response portlet. To learn more click here. Currently, code associated with this project is checked in as a branch of Pentaho project . We have also put together a Pentaho-Liferay integration project page. Can you post a guide for liferay+pentaho
